How Much Should Your Wedding DJ Cost?

Your DJ and entertainment company is one of the most important vendors you will need to hire when planning your wedding reception. You may even use your DJ to play music and provide a sound system at your Ceremony and Cocktail hour. The biggest question most important to you is, how much should I be paying and where do I even start.

I want to be as honest as possible and there really isn’t an exact amount to expect when looking and hiring your wedding DJ. I will tell you for a four hour reception with a DJ and Emcee, and maybe a small lighting package anything less than a thousand dollars, you are taking a chance. Here at Rossi Entertainment we offer one package that includes a DJ, Emcee, and Photo Booth with attendant for $1500.00 total. As always if you add a more elaborate lighting package, Gobo projector, or even more hours the price will naturally be higher.

When hiring your DJ keep in mind you are paying for not only the time and effort at your event but the hours of prep work done months before. Examples include acquiring all your special dance songs and must play music, going over the names of your bridal party introductions, and even answering your emails and phone calls. With the big investment weddings can be, not hiring a professional and talented DJ can be a mistake.

I will give you a breakdown and hopefully this helps in your search.

  1. Simple / Just DJ and Emcee – Don’t pay less than $1,000.00
  2. Moderate / Some Extras – Don’t pay less than $1,200.00
  3. Rossi Entertainment – Pay this $1,500.00 – DJ with Emcee and Photo Booth

In my opinion you can get a great DJ for around $1,500.00.
